Best Western Premier Galileo – Padova, Italy

The Best Western Premier is supposedly “near the train station”. It is walkable…but its 20-25 minute walk which is not too much fun with luggage. There is a bus that goes right by the hotel (the 18 and 12 bus both do) but we never were able to figure out the bus schedule in Padova at all (every stop had the exact same schedule – which makes no sense that the same bus could be at every stop in town at 10 after for instance). Fortunately, if you have access to Google Maps, you can get the exact times the buses will come, so with a little advance planning (if you knew what time your train got in), you could look up your bus times ahead of time.

All that being said, the hotel is Very nice. It is very modern. It is also more of a business hotel than a tourist hotel, so, again, its a bus ride to the center. The beds are comfortable and everything is very nice. Once wierd things (at least to me) is that the use of the swimming pool and spa cost extra…which deterred me from using it because I never really wanted to swim for more than maybe 20 minutes and that didn’t seem worth it to me. If you were going to hang out there all day I suppose it would be…but then you’d miss out on Padova which we thought was a very cool city.

From Padova, its only about 30 minutes to Venice, so used it as a base to visit Venice for a day which worked out well.

We didn’t take any pictures of the hotel here, but here’s a few pictures of the town of Padova (Padua).
